    Provenance: Originally in the collection of the photographer Edward Willis Barnett, who first met Man Ray while living in the Montparnasse district of Paris in the 1920s. Barnett founded the Alabama Museum of Photography and the Alabama International Exhibition of Photography. Four portraits of Man Ray by Barnett are in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art
